Why Masonic World Guide
Welcome to the Masonic World Guide. I’m Kent Henderson.
In 1984, I published my first Masonic World Guide—a travel guide designed to help
Freemasons connect with lodges worldwide. This was followed by an updated edition in
2000. I’m excited to announce that my new online Masonic World Guide website is now
active, providing users with all the necessary information to visit recognized lodges globally.
Lodges can be found in nearly every country, from Argentina to Zimbabwe and from Canada to
Fiji!
In the section entitled "Some Notes to Begin", you will find detailed procedures for visiting
lodges. Each country section includes comprehensive information about its Grand Lodge,
visitor guidelines, lodge locations, customs, and dress codes, meeting times—everything a
visiting Mason needs for a successful visit.
Freemasonry is a remarkable global fraternity, and visiting lodges is one of its greatest
privileges. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting and speaking at lodges across the
globe. It’s the only organization where, as a Mason, you can enter a room full of strangers
anywhere in the world and be immediately welcomed like a close friend and brother.
Many Freemasons miss the opportunity to visit lodges while travelling simply because
they’re unaware of how to do so, where local lodges meet, or the proper procedures. My
Masonic World Guide addresses all these concerns. Aside from its use by the Masonic
visitors, I believe it will be also of huge interest to the armchair travel.
Looking ahead, we’ll offer video blogs, chat facilities and much more. Through the website,
Masons who have visited will be able share their experiences and provide insights to help
others.
